Happy Christmas

Happy Christmas to all (well those who deserve it). That was the text message that I sent out tonight to all my friends, and family, and even those who I didn't want to wish that too. For those who know me, know that I'm going through some boy drama right now. Maybe boy drama isn't the right word, maybe more like some evil wishing about a certain boy (I'm hoping that he get some horrid STD from his new girlfriend [I was told that wishing that he would get run over was a little to extreme and mean]).
But other than that I had a pretty good Christmas. And I know that above I wrote Happy Christmas, very English. I wish I was in England. And other than that I had a pretty good Christmas. The kids that I take care of (basically their parents) got me a iPod Nano, which I think just toally rocks. I'm sooo totally happy about. I cried when it was given to me because I was moved so much. The grandparents gave me a gift card, and a New York bracelet. (And even though I don't wear jewerly at all I'll cherish it always.) The other grandparent got me a scarf, gloves, and a hat. I guess they thought that someone who wears sandlas 24/7 needs to get warmed up some other way. But of course someone who knits and crochets, can't knit or crochet themselves a scarf. This brings the total of scarves that I have to 5 (4 of them are homemade, either from my sister, or that I made myself.)
So yesterday (Christmas Eve for those of you who can't figure that out) the family I work for had their annual Christmas Eve party. It wasn't to bad. The kids' cousin was there, the guy who gave me mad drama in August, was there. Totally apologanic(sp?) for what he did, and ended up giving me his number. (For the next time I'm in the city). I probably am gonna call him, when-ever I'm in the city next. The next month is CRAZY. It's full of birthdays, and trips, and just so much stuff. It was definatly interesting. But good as well, plus I ended up missing half the party because I was trying to finish up knitting. But I did get everything done (and everyone told me they liked their stuff, we'll see if they really wear them).
Today went to the kids Aunt and Uncle's house, which was slightly crazy (They have 5 kids, and there were mad more people there too), but it also felt a little like home. Except for the lady who thought she could tell me to keep the kids away from the dogs, which I was totally all over. But what else do I except from drunk people.
We are now on the way home, and I have to work tomorrow, well half a day, and then do some mad quick packing for the trip on Tuesday. Which I have to get up at 4am to catch the plane. So as we enter Queens, I'll say Goodnight to all, and to All a Good Night (except for those damn boys who need to piss off.)

Finishing My Travels.....

Okay, so I know that I left a lot of you in the lurch with that last post.  But I was actually at the airport at the time I was writing that.  And had to go stand in this huge line because my flight got cancelled.  But let me first finish that whole story.

Like I said I had been up since 3:30 that morning, and I hadn't had more than an hour of sleep in the past 24 hours. (Packing, Laundry, and Working the night before does all that stuff to you).  And of course on the one day that I planned on travelling during the winter months here, it snows.  Not a little snow, like a foot or something of snow.  Not to big of a deal, except that I was stuck in the airport from 7:20 in the morning, and didn't land until 10:15, or 11:15 that night.  My first flight was suppose to take off from New York at 9:00 AM.  It was delayed when I arrived at the airport, after my first train being cancelled to "mechanical problems", and then being jammed back on a New York city bus during morning rush hour (If I had been on my first train that probably wouldn't have happened).  And so because of there being no seats, and I'm having to stand in this packed bus with my huge backpack on my back I'm pretty sure I pissed a lot of people off.  Not that I really care because I had already slipped and fell like 3 times while walking from the train to the bus stop (Now anyone who knows me knows that I was wearing my flip-flops in this weather, but I did have my fab monkey toe socks on, and since I wear flip-flops like 24/7/365 I'm good at walking in the snow in them) so I wasn't happy, or in the mood to be pushed and pulled into different directions.  So all I wanted to do at that point was get to the airport, which I was happy to be there once I finally arrived.  And even when my flight was delayed it didn't bother me, which at first was only 30 minutes, but then it was delayed again, this time for an hour and a half.  Which still didn't bother me to much because my friend that was picking me up from the airport wasn't going to get off work until two hours after I landed.  So being delayed that much was cool because that meant that I wouldn't have wait when I finally landed for anyone.  But then that flight got cancelled, so after getting booked on two more flights I finally walked onto the plane at 2:00pm. (If I had taken off on my orginal flight I would've been in Kentucky at 1:30)  We of course had to taxi on the jet-way for an hour before finally taking off.  And of course by this point I was exhausted, so when I got to my seat, and the main cabin door was shut I crashed.  I fell into one of those drunked sleeps, you know which ones those are.  The ones where no matter what you probably couldn't have been woken up from.  So yeah, had one of those for like hour and a half.  And I have a feeling that I did something totally stupid on that flight in my sleep because when I woke up, the people next to me tried to completely ignore me, while people a couple of seats away from me just couldn't help but do that smug little 'I know you did something, but I'm not gonna tell you' smirky smiles, which freaked me out.  But luckily for me we landed with-in a half hour.  So I finally got to Detriot (where I was connecting flight) around 4:30pm.  So that meant I was going to be in Detriot until around 8 or something, it was like 4 to 5 hours that I was stuck in Detriot.  But in a totally weird twist of fate I ran into this girl that I hadn't seen in like a good 4 years.  Completely strange, and random, but good?

And of course I didn't get anything for having to be stuck in the damn airport for that long, nothing.  Not a free ticket, not a cup of coffee, nothing.  Not that I'm complaining or anything because on my way back to New York I did get a free roundtrip ticket.  And that was just for basicall doing the same thing I did on my way there, which was waiting to take a later flight.  So of course I already have it booked so I have another trip coming up in February.  Hopefully the weather will better.

On the knitting front, I still have been lacking and slacking.  Obvisiouly since I can't even update this thing, let alone knit.  I did finish some scarves for Christmas presents for people.  I only have 2 more to start, two backpacks to finish, and a scarf to finish.  And all of this to do by Saturday.  I don't know why I take on so much stuff.  I'm determined to get everything done though, and I'll try and post pictures of them all.  I keep telling myself that when I get all this holiday knitting done I'm going to start on Mariah.  Don't know if that's going to happen. *lol* Of course I'm sure that some of you understand.

So I'm going to leave you know with a picture of the airport on the lucky Friday at the airport.  Notice the guy sleeping in the back.  Wish I could've been him.

Travelling

I have decided that travelling is evil, and if I wasn't on my way to visit friends I would just turn right around, go home, and crawl under my covers.
To start things off I haven't slept more than an hour in the past 24 ± hours. I had to be up at 3:30 this morning to catch the train so I could get into the city. Which wasn't bad, except that my train was delayed 30 minutes because of "mech. problems". Then once in the city, I had to wait for the bus, a mad long time.
And I'll update more later.
